Dear St. Rita’s Catholic School Families,
As we transition from the relaxed pace of summer to the structured days of the school year, we embrace the opportunity for growth and learning that lies ahead. The end of summer is not just a time to prepare for the challenges of the new academic year, but also a moment to reflect on the joys and restorative power of the time spent with family and friends.
Join Us for Mass and Kringle! We warmly invite you to join us for Mass this Sunday, August 11th, at 10:30 AM. It’s a beautiful way to start the week together as a community. After Mass, please stay and enjoy some delicious Kringle in the Narthex of the church.
Back to School Night - August 19th A gentle reminder that the new school year is just around the corner! We’re excited to welcome everyone back and to kick things off, our Back to School Night is scheduled for Monday, August 19th, from 3:30-5:30. This is your opportunity for parents to drop off supplies, get school pictures taken, and meet our dedicated teachers.
Emergency Card Update If you haven’t already, please take a moment to fill out your child’s emergency cards in PowerSchool. It’s crucial that we have the most current information on file for the safety of all our students.
Catholic Schools Walk - September 21st We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Catholic Schools Walk on Saturday, September 21st. This cherished event is not just a walk; it’s a celebration of our faith and commitment to Catholic education. Organized by the Rita’s Parent School Association (RPSA), the walk is a significant fundraiser that supports our students and staff throughout the entire year. The funds raised are instrumental in providing resources and opportunities that enrich our children’s educational experience. We will soon provide more details, so stay tuned!
We look forward to seeing you at these events and are excited for the upcoming school year. Your partnership and participation are what make our school community so special.
Blessings,
Beth Woodward
Principal, St. Rita’s Catholic School
There will be several forms, permission slips, acknowledgements that need to be completed for your student(s) through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. From the PS Parent Portal you can check your student’s attendance, assignment, missing assignments and latest report card and complete forms. All parents are required to create an account.
The attachment will help you create a PS Parent Account. You can follow along on how to do the steps below by watching this short tutorial.
The following link will explain how to view grades and attendance in PowerSchool. It also explains how to view standards/grades for assignments, any missing assignments and attendance. You may find this helpful since schools are sending out attendance letters, scheduled conferences dates and this month's report cards to prevent surprises: https://help.powerschool.com/t5/PowerSchool-SIS-COVID-19/Student-and-Parent-Portal-Viewing-Grades-and-Attendance/ba-p/82544. The video shows the example of a fictitious high school, but you will be following the same steps for your student(s).
Instructions on how to complete the Emergency Card Form will be sent in a few days. You can’t complete the Emergency card until you create a PS Parent account.
If you need help creating an account, please email Michelle Feick.
