Dear Families,
Thank you for your incredible generosity during Money Wars the past few weeks. Your support—along with funds raised through the School Walk fundraiser—helps our Parent Organization provide enrichment experiences for our students, including two of the three exciting clubs we’re hosting this quarter (thanks to the help of Ms. Thomas). We are deeply grateful for the way you continue to invest in our school community and in the opportunities that make learning come alive for our students.
As we move into the winter season, basketball is just around the corner! We’re thrilled to see our student athletes back on the court representing St. Rita with teamwork and spirit. Please remind your child that academic responsibility comes first—students must stay caught up on assignments to participate fully with their teams. We’re proud to partner with our Athletic Director to ensure our athletes are giving their best both in the classroom and in competition.
With the colder weather settling in, we ask that students wear pants or leggings under their uniform skirts. When there is snow on the ground, students will need snow pants and snow boots if they’d like to play in the snow during recess. With over 230 students in our building, it’s also a huge help if families label coats, boots, and other winter gear—it makes it much easier for us to return lost items quickly.
We also want to gently remind families to reach out directly to your child’s teacher with any classroom concerns or questions before bringing them to the parent chat group or to me. Our teachers work incredibly hard to create a welcoming, supportive, and challenging learning environment, and they are always eager to partner with you. By communicating directly, we can work together to uphold high expectations and high support for every student—ensuring that each child continues to grow both academically and personally.
As we move toward Thanksgiving and Advent, we are reminded of the hope and anticipation of Christ’s coming. May this season of preparation bring peace and joy to your homes and hearts.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Beth Woodward
Principal, St. Rita Catholic School
Dismissal Reminder
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during dismissal. A special thank you to all parents who wait for the “slow” sign before driving forward at the end of the day. For everyone’s safety, please do not move your vehicle until you see a teacher display the “slow” sign. Your attentiveness helps keep our students safe. It is normally just a three or four minute wait from dismissal until the “go” signal.
Uniforms on Fridays
Please remember that students should wear their regular uniforms on Fridays. Our Spirit Wear Fridays will begin after Thanksgiving. We’ll share more details as we get closer to that time.
During the Winter months, students are required to wear pants, skirts/jumpers with Black, navy, or white leggings only. No shorts should be worn until March 16th.

Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others!
