Dear St. Rita Parents,
I hope this newsletter finds you well as we embrace the spirit of the season and reflect on the meaningful events happening in our school community. Here are some important updates for the month of February:
Valentine's Parties on February 13th, 2-3 PM:
As we approach this day of affection, please note that our annual Valentine's Parties for students will take place on February 13th from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. This is the day BEFORE Valentine’s Day, as this year Valentine’s day is also Ash Wednesday. We encourage students to share expressions of kindness and friendship with their classmates. Thank you to our dedicated parent volunteers who make these events memorable for our students.
Ash Wednesday Prayer Service at Noon
In observance of the holy season of Lent, we were invited by the parish to an Ash Wednesday Prayer Service on February 14th at noon. This solemn occasion marks the beginning of the 40-day journey of reflection, repentance, and spiritual growth leading up to Easter. We invite parents to join us for this prayerful and meaningful service as we come together as a community to receive ashes and embark on our Lenten journey.
The Beginning of Lent:
Lent is a time for self-reflection, prayer, and sacrifice. As we enter this period of spiritual renewal, let us encourage our children to embrace the values of compassion, forgiveness, and gratitude. It is an opportunity for all of us to grow in our faith and deepen our connection with God. I invite each family to consider incorporating a Lenten practice or tradition into your daily lives, fostering a sense of unity and purpose during this sacred season.
Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on February 15th from 3:15 to 7:15 PM. Spring conferences are not required - some teachers may reach out if they would like to discuss your child’s progress. This is an opportunity for parents and teachers to engage in meaningful conversations about their child's achievements, and areas for growth. To streamline the scheduling process, our dedicated secretary has sent out a Sign-Up Genius link, making it convenient for you to select a time slot that best suits your schedule. Your active participation in these conferences is instrumental in fostering a collaborative partnership between home and school. We look forward to productive discussions that contribute to the continued success and growth of our students. Since there are just 4 hours allotted for conferences this spring, if you do not find a time available, please contact your child’s teacher directly to either meet or schedule a phone conference.
We appreciate the ongoing support of our parents in creating a nurturing and faith-filled environment for our students. May this Lenten season bring blessings of grace, peace, and spiritual growth to each member of our St. Rita family.
Blessings,
Beth Woodward
Principal, St. Rita School

Hello Families,
Kids Heart Challenge has officially kicked off, and we hope you will join us as we celebrate a
legacy of lifesavers and continue the fight against heart disease and stroke!
You can get started now by registering your student at: http://www2.heart.org/goto/StRitaRacine
and beginning Finn’s Mission! The goal of Finn’s Mission is to help kids with special hearts and
teach as many people as possible the lifesaving skills of Hands-Only CPR and the warning
signs of a stroke.
Click HERE to hear from Phil and see how Kids Heart Challenge is saving lives!
Our class is participating in a competition to have the most students register and complete
Finn’s Mission. If 75% of my students take the challenge and at least three students complete
Finn’s Mission, we will be earning two Amazon gift cards for our classroom!
Thank you so much for helping us achieve our goals!
The attached forms were included in your Packet.
There are two different order forms. The larger, main order form is what you can use to sell your candy bars.
The other is a smaller form in which you will tally your orders and turn this into the school.
Please double check your count before submitting as we only order what you ask for.
The chocolate bars sell for $2.00 each and we earn a 50% profit on all chocolates sold. Please only order what you have sold or what you intend to sell. We cannot exchange or return any items not sold. We have also included a description list of each chocolate bar, and a list of ingredients for allergy information.
Orders and payment will be due to the school office NO LATER than Wednesday, February 21, 2023. Candy bars will come in mid-late March.
The top selling classroom will win a pizza party! The student(s) in the top selling family will win lunch from Culver’s with Ms. Woodward and three friends!
If you have any questions, please contact Courtney Ulinski @ courtney616@hotmail.com or 262-308-2293.
