Dear St. Rita Families,
As we journey through this beautiful season of growth and celebration, I want to take a moment to reflect on a special milestone in our school community. This past weekend, our second graders received their First Holy Communion—a profound step in their faith journey. When these young students embrace this sacred sacrament with reverence and joy, it is a moving reminder of the spiritual foundation we strive to nurture at St. Rita School. Congratulations to our second graders and their families on this significant occasion!
We also have many exciting events coming up, and I encourage all families to mark their calendars:
- May 15th - School Concerts: Our students have been working hard to perfect their performances, and we can't wait to showcase their talent! 5:00 p.m. for grades K3-3. 6:00 p.m. for grades 4-8 Doors open at 4:45.
- May 22nd - Festa St. Rita: A beloved tradition celebrating our patron saint! Following the St. Rita play, parents will have the opportunity to take their students out for lunch from 10:30-12:00 p.m. Permission slips will be sent home next week. Students may leave with family or someone who is listed as their emergency contact.
- May 28th - Field Day: Fun-filled outdoor activities and team-building events that our students always look forward to!
- May 31st - 7th/8th Grade and All-Parent Trivia Night: A fun-filled evening of friendly competition awaits our middle schoolers and any parents who wish to attend! Mrs. Maraccini and Lora Miller have taken the lead to organize our first of hopefully many future events.
- June 3rd - 8th Grade Graduation Our 8th graders will celebrate their incredible achievements at their graduation ceremony at 1:30 PM. Earlier in the day, they will have the opportunity to invite family members to a special graduation luncheon to commemorate their accomplishments.
We have some staffing changes here for next year. Our first grade teacher, Mrs. Bach, is retiring. We thank her for her years of service to the St. Rita community! This first grade position will be filled by our current second grade teacher, Susan Wiemer, and we have posted our second grade position.
Lastly, I want to extend a huge congratulations to Aven Drenzek, who was nominated by Mrs. Maraccini and selected to represent the Milwaukee Bucks region at the national Math Hoops competition in New York this summer! Aven’s mathematical prowess is inspiring, and we are so proud of this remarkable achievement.
As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership in making St. Rita School such a wonderful place for learning and growth. May this month be filled with joy, success, and meaningful moments for all.
Blessings,
Beth Woodward

St. Rita's 3K needs your help!
Donate or bid today to help raise funds to install doors between our 3K classroom and our before/after school care space. This door is important for safety, supervision, security, and noise control. It allows for flexibility in space use, provides privacy, offers an emergency exit route, and helps manage behavior by creating clear boundaries between the two environments

Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Table setters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others! Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return it to school before our first meeting.
