I hope this newsletter finds you well. Happy Valentine’s Day! The students and staff enjoyed celebrating together today with lots of cards and sweets.
Heart Association Fundraiser Kickoff
Monday was the kickoff of our annual Heart Association Fundraiser! A special thank you to Mr. Schwaiger and Ms. Liebherr for their dedication and hard work in organizing this event. This fundraiser not only raises awareness about heart health but also empowers our students to make a difference by supporting heart disease research. Your contributions and encouragement show students the meaning of service.
Snow Day Fun
We hope your children enjoyed their recent snow day! It was a delightful break, and we are excited to see them back at school, ready to learn and play. Please remember to send your children with appropriate snow gear, including boots, snowpants, hats, and gloves, so they can fully enjoy outdoor activities in the snow.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Thank you to all the parents who attended our recent parent-teacher conferences. Your involvement in your child's education is invaluable. To stay connected with your child's classroom activities and updates, please make sure to join us on ClassDojo and Google Classroom. These platforms are excellent resources for staying informed about day-to-day events and communicating with your child's teachers.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making St. Rita Catholic School a wonderful place for our students to grow and thrive.
Warm regards,
Beth Woodward
Principal, St. Rita Catholic School
We started our After School Learning Lab with a homemade treat: carbo circles rolled in powdered sugar...this is why everyone in the picture has white all over them. They are not neat when it comes to baking!!!
Several students picked out a lab that used different concentrations of salt to determine what would make an egg float. Our After School Learning Lab is all about finding answers to questions, performing labs that we think sound interesting, and trying variations to see what happens. Our salt experiment led to dropping eggs from various heights to see if the salt water would protect them. Yes...some missed the cup...and some missed the table. It was a bit of a clean-up :)
Did you know there is NO OFFICIAL ratio of colors in your bag of M&Ms? Tuesday’s After School Learning Lab investigated the ratios of various packages of M&Ms to see if we could accurately determine where it was manufactured. Students brought their analytical skills and sweet tooth to this session and prepared for some fun math….and a little snacking too.

Siena Schools offers a financial aid application, through Blackbaud Financial Aid, that will open February 1, 2025, closing April 15, 2025 for the 25-26 school year.
When starting the online financial aid application, search Siena Catholic Schools and then select the specific Siena location desired. You will need your 2024 income information for this application.
Tuition contracts for the 25-26 school year may be ready for your digital signature prior to the aid application results. This is not a concern. We ask that you sign the contract by the assigned deadline even if you applied for aid. Once the aid application is processed, the contract will be updated by the finance office to reflect the new tuition rate. You will not need to re-sign the contract.
Any questions please let us know and an Admissions & Financial Aid team member will be in touch with you!
Mrs. Schotz is looking for book donations for the upcoming quarter sale.

Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others! Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return it to school before our first meeting.
