Dear St. Rita Families,
As we embrace the beauty of this season, I wanted to take a moment to share some reflections and updates from our school community.
There’s something magical about the first snowfall, isn’t there? Watching our students run into the white wonderland, their laughter in the air, brings such joy. Just the other day, we had a fire drill during the snowfall—imagine the sight of our kids bundled up, staying warm while practicing their safety procedures! And let’s not forget the walk to church, where snowflakes danced around us as we made our way to worship. These moments remind us of the simple pleasures in life. Speaking of the white stuff, please remember to send snow boots and other gear with your children so they can enjoy their time outside.
A huge round of applause goes to St. Catherine’s football team for winning the state title! We are so proud of their hard work and dedication. If you haven’t seen the pictures from the send-off we gave them, be sure to check them out on facebook or below. It was a wonderful celebration of community spirit!
As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to express my thanks for all that we have at St. Rita’s. Our community is rich with support, kindness, and a shared commitment to our students’ growth. This season is a perfect time to reflect on our blessings and the wonderful people who make our school a special place.
Following Thanksgiving, we will enter the season of Advent. We plan to mark each week with our own prayer services, alongside our regular weekly Mass. This is a beautiful time for reflection and preparation as we look forward to the joy of Christmas.
In December, we will begin ACCESS testing for our students who speak languages other than English at home. This assessment will help us understand their skills better and support their academic achievement.
We will also offer the sacrament of reconciliation for our Catholic students on December 3rd. This is a wonderful opportunity for spiritual growth and reflection. Students who are not baptized Catholic are invited to have a conversation with the priests if they wish.
Thank you all so much for your support of our fundraisers and collections during this season. Your contributions to St. Vincent de Paul, which gathered hundreds of hygiene items, are so helpful to the homeless and needy. We are also still collecting for our raffle baskets and the giving tree, teaching our students the importance of thinking of those less fortunate.
As we gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving, I wish you all a joyful holiday filled with love and gratitude. Thank you for being a part of our St. Rita community!
Warm regards,
Beth Woodward

Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others! Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return it to school before our first meeting.
