Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we transition into the cooler temperatures of fall, I want to express my gratitude for the resilience and patience shown by our staff and students during the recent heat wave. Your support and understanding were so valuable, and we are thankful that everyone managed to stay safe and healthy.
Our kindergarteners and first graders have been having a fantastic time with their apple-themed STEAM activities! From painting in art, to exploring graphing and measuring, the children have been engaged and enthusiastic. These activities not only foster creativity but also introduce our young learners to the wonders of science, technology, engineering, art, and math in a fun and interactive way.
We are excited to invite all parents and families to participate in the Catholic Schools Walk on September 21st. This event is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and support our school. This event is our biggest fundraiser for the year. Please keep an eye out for the sign-up link, which will be included later in this newsletter. Your participation and support are greatly appreciated!
Please join us for the Welcome Back Mass on September 15th at 10:30 a.m. This special mass is a great way to start the new school year with blessings and community spirit. Many of us have not yet met Father Thomas or Father Marco, who are our new priests this year. Additionally, we will be saying goodbye to our beloved custodian, Mr. Geoff, who has been a cherished member of our school family. We hope you can wish him well in his future endeavors.
As we approach the Labor Day weekend, I wish you all a relaxing and enjoyable time with your families. May this break be filled with rest, joy, and quality time with loved ones.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events!
Warm regards,
Beth Woodward

Hi! My name is Sarah Prusha, and I am the new school counselor at St. Rita. I am so excited to get to work with all of my new students! Some of you may recognize me from St. Catherine's last year. I am so grateful to be part of the St. Rita and Siena communities! I plan on getting into the classrooms and teaching students about a variety of wellness topics, as well as meeting with students on an individual basis. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to reach out at sprusha@sienacatholicschools.org.

Welcome Back Mass
St. Rita Parish would like to welcome all school families back for another fun and successful year. Be sure to join your St. Rita family for the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday, September 15 at St Rita Parish. Students are encouraged to wear St. Rita uniforms to show their school pride. There will be refreshments and a time to mingle with your fellow school families and parishioners. If your child is interested in playing an active part in the Mass, please fill out the form and return it to school with your child.
Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others! Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return it to school before our first meeting.
Monthly Outdoor Rosary
Please join us in praying the Rosary outdoors. We will meet monthly from May to October on the 13th of each month at 7:00 PM at the St. Rita statue on the St. Rita grounds (near the parish office doors). Our next Rosary will be said on Friday, September 13. Rosaries, prayer booklets and assistance will be provided, if needed. The event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and your friends and family. If you have small children, feel free to come for only one decade, if that is what works for your family. All are welcome!
Please let me know if you need anything else,
Thank you so much!
Jenny
