Greetings,
WOW! What a fabulous week of amazing surprise from our Royal Parent School Association! The appreciation in recognizing all that the staff does each and everyday for every child at St. Rita's is truly a blessing. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in organizing. We had a blast with the punch board in each class. Check out the pictures further down in this newsletter. The total donation of money was $300! In addition, a shout out of gratitude to our families for bringing in the daily treats! I heard, today, Friday was a huge day of Chocolate. We are very thankful for the love, care and support! EVERYONE IS A SUPERHERO!
Happy Mother's Day to all! We want to take time to thank all of the wonderful individuals who give so much of their time and love to their families. Take a moment and give thanks and praise for the many unnoticed things they do! I do hope you all are showered with appreciation, warmth and sunshine! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Blessings,
Dr. Sue

Congratulations to our eight 2nd graders who received their First Communion this past Saturday. We have been learning about the sacrament and how we can participate more in the mass. They are so blessed to have been able to receive Jesus in the Eucharist.
In math, our class has been learning about 2-D and 3-D shapes. We’ve been learning some cool math words like angles, vertices and quadrilateral. We can also draw different shapes like pyramids, cubes and rectangular prisms and make these shapes using toothpicks and marshmallows. They did a great job creating and writing about their Shape Monsters too.
In science, we have been working really hard on our animal research projects. Each student picked out an animal to research and write a report. Our animals range from a komodo dragon to a parrotfish; a bald eagle to a goblin shark. They need to research the life cycle of their animal, what the animal eats, draw its habitat, and even find some “super cool” facts to include in their report.
They also love to be challenged with learning new vocabulary words each week. Some of these words are: rambunctious, zany, spectator and dynamo. (I bet some of them can even spell these words too.)
The end of the school year is fast approaching, but 2nd graders continue to be hard at work to get ready for the big move up to 3rd grade!
Thank you-The quarter library sale was excellent! The money raised this year will be used for library bound Barbie and Art books. The last dates for book check out are May 17 and 18. This early ending is to allow time to get all materials returned before year end.
