Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well as we settle into the new school year. I have several important updates and reminders to share with you.
Welcome Back Mass We are excited to invite you to our Welcome Back Mass this Sunday at 10:30 AM. Students who attend the Mass in their school uniforms will receive out-of-uniform passes. We look forward to seeing many of you there as we come together to celebrate the start of another wonderful year.
STAR Testing Reports Please be aware that STAR testing reports will be sent home next Friday. These reports provide valuable insights into your child’s academic progress and areas for growth. Please review them carefully and feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns.
Catholic Schools Walk Our annual Catholic Schools Walk is next Saturday at 9:45 AM at the Siena Center. This event is a major fundraiser for our school, and we greatly appreciate your support. Please see the link above to donate and help us reach our fundraising goals. Your contributions make a significant difference in the resources and opportunities we can provide for our students.
Upcoming Field Trips We have several exciting field trips planned for our students:
The 8th grade will be visiting Gateway.
The 4th grade will explore the trout ponds.
The K5 and 1st grade classes will enjoy a day at the Apple Farm.
These trips offer valuable learning experiences outside the classroom, and we are thrilled to provide these opportunities for our students.
Middle School Chromebook Reminder A gentle reminder to all middle school students and parents: students are responsible for charging and bringing their Chromebooks to school each day. This ensures they are prepared for their classes and can fully participate in all activities.
Halloween Carnival The Halloween Carnival is coming up on October 18th from 5:00-8:00p.m. This event is a great opportunity to meet other students and parents in the community and serves as a fundraiser for the 8th grade class trip. More information about this event and tickets/wristbands will be found in next week’s newsletter.
As we move into the fall season, we are hopeful for some cooler weather and the beautiful days ahead. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.
Warm regards,
Beth Woodward

Welcome Back Mass
St. Rita Parish would like to welcome all school families back for another fun and successful year. Be sure to join your St. Rita family for the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday, September 15 at St Rita Parish. Students are encouraged to wear St. Rita uniforms to show their school pride. There will be refreshments and a time to mingle with your fellow school families and parishioners. If your child is interested in playing an active part in the Mass, please fill out the form and return it to school with your child.
Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others! Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return it to school before our first meeting.
Monthly Outdoor Rosary
Please join us in praying the Rosary outdoors. We will meet monthly from May to October on the 13th of each month at 7:00 PM at the St. Rita statue on the St. Rita grounds (near the parish office doors). Our next Rosary will be said on Friday, September 13. Rosaries, prayer booklets and assistance will be provided, if needed. The event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and your friends and family. If you have small children, feel free to come for only one decade, if that is what works for your family. All are welcome!
Fall Family Service Opportunity
On Saturday, October 5 (9:00AM-11:00AM), families with students in grades 4-8 will have the opportunity to work together caring for God’s beautiful creation at River Bend Nature Center. We will help with tasks that might include: moving firewood, pulling invasive plants, putting down wood chips or trail maintenance. Please come and join us in our service efforts. If your family plans to participate, please complete and return the form sent home with your child by Wed. Oct. 2.
