Dear St. Rita Families,
I hope this message finds you well. As we move deeper into the fall season, I wanted to take a moment to share some important updates and express my gratitude for the wonderful community we have here at St. Rita Catholic School.
Halloween Carnival Success
First and foremost, a HUGE thank you to our middle school teachers and Mr. Endemann for organizing this year’s Halloween Carnival. The event will be fun for our families, and I am particularly proud of our 8th grade students who took a lot of initiative with their creative designs. Their hard work and enthusiasm truly shone through.
End of First Quarter
A reminder that next week marks the end of the first quarter. Our dedicated teachers will be working diligently on report cards, and we will soon be sending out a sign-up for fall conferences for grades 3K-5. Middle School teachers and specialists will be available in the gym for conferences on November 7th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Teacher Appreciation
I would also like to extend a special thank you to our teachers. They often do not receive the recognition they deserve for their thoughtful planning and passionate teaching. Their commitment to our students’ education is truly inspiring. I have admired the creative experiments, enthusiastic student actors, interesting student presentations, and interactive STEAM lessons across the school this month.
Important Dates
No School on October 25th: Please note that there will be no school on October 25th due to an inservice day.
Halloween Parties: Classroom Halloween parties will be held on October 31st from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
Mass Schedule: We will not have school mass on Thursday, October 31st. Instead, we will celebrate mass on Friday, November 1st, which is All Saints Day.
Conferences from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on November 7th.
Catholic Schools Walk Fundraiser
Many thanks to Hilary Lowman and the parents who worked tirelessly on the Catholic Schools Walk Fundraiser, which also included our Money Wars event. I am thrilled to announce that we raised $1476.80. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated. Students benefit year-round from the enrichment activities this funding provides.
Partnership with Parents
Lastly, I want to reflect on the special partnerships we have with our parents. Our teachers deeply appreciate your collaboration and support, especially when we need to push individual students to be their best selves. Together, we create a nurturing and challenging environment that helps our students thrive. Your support of the teachers at St. Rita makes this school a special place for our students.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.
Warm regards,
Beth Woodward

This week in the St.Rita Girls volleyball all the teams played very well and almost all the teams won but they all tried their hardest. First we have the 5th Grade girls. They had a double header. They sadly lost to St Joe-Racine/JPII and ASCA both played at St.Lucy's gym. Next we have 6th grade. They played St Joe-Racine/JPII and won so congrats to them. Then we have 7th grade St.Rita White who played a double header. They played Renaissance at home and won against them and then played St.Lucy-White and won against them so good job to them. After that we have 7th grade St.Rita blue who also had a double header and both games at home. They first played St.Lucy-Green and they won but then played Evergreen and sadly lost. Then last but not least we have 8th grade. They played SJCA and won against them at home.

Come and join us on Thursdays at 8:15am at our School Masses. Families are welcome to sit with their students on the right side of the Church. Hope to see you there!
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on November 7th from 10 AM to 6 PM. A Sign-Up Genius link will be sent out for grades K-3 to 5. Middle School staff and specialists will be available in the gym on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and address any concerns.
Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others! Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return it to school before our first meeting.
Monthly Outdoor Rosary
Please join us in praying the Rosary outdoors. We will meet monthly from May to October on the 13th of each month at 7:00 PM at the St. Rita statue on the St. Rita grounds (near the parish office doors). Our next Rosary will be said on Friday, September 13. Rosaries, prayer booklets and assistance will be provided, if needed. The event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and your friends and family. If you have small children, feel free to come for only one decade, if that is what works for your family. All are welcome!
