Dear St. Rita School Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you well. We have had an exciting and enriching week at St. Rita School, and I am thrilled to share some highlights with you.
Read Across America Week
This past week, we celebrated Read Across America Week with a series of fun and engaging activities. Our older students took on the role of mentors, reading to the younger classes and fostering a love for literature among our younger learners. It was heartwarming to see the connections formed and the joy on the faces of both the readers and the listeners.
Our book exchange was a wonderful chance to share the love of reading, with students eagerly swapping books and discovering new stories to enjoy. The themed dress-down days added an extra layer of excitement, with everyone showing off their creativity and school spirit. Thank you to all the parents and staff who helped make this week so special. Thank you to Angela Thomas, who organized the events this week.
Beginning of Lent
This week also marked the beginning of Lent, a time for reflection and spiritual growth. Our school community came together to attend Ash Wednesday Mass, where we were reminded of the importance of this season. It was a meaningful experience for all, and I encourage families to continue these reflections at home.
In the spirit of Lent, the parish is hosting Fish Frys in the gym on Friday nights, starting today! This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy a delicious meal, and support our parish. We hope to see many of you there.
Middle School Activities
Our middle school students have an exciting week ahead! They will be attending the St. Cat's musical on a field trip, which promises to be a fantastic experience. Additionally, they will celebrate Pi Day with a variety of math-themed activities organized by Mrs. Maraccini that are sure to be both educational and fun. We are looking forward to seeing their enthusiasm and creativity in action.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Together, we make St. Rita School a wonderful place for our children to learn and grow.
Warm regards,
Beth Woodward

Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Tablesetters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others! Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return it to school before our first meeting.
