Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. As we move into the spring season, I wanted to share some important updates and reminders with you.
Summer School Program
Summer school recommendation letters are being sent home for some students. However, we encourage all students to participate in the summer school program at JPIIA, which is offered at no cost to families. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to continue their learning and stay engaged over the summer months.
Short Week Next Week
Please note that next week will be a short week for our school. On Thursday, our teachers will come together for a mission day, and there will be no school for students. Additionally, Friday is a day off for everyone. We hope you enjoy the extended weekend!
St. Patrick's Day Celebration
In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, students are welcome to wear green or St. Patrick's Day tops with their uniform bottoms on Monday. Let's show our spirit!
Forward Testing in April
Forward testing will begin in April. Classroom teachers will communicate their own schedule to parents through Class Dojo. Mrs. Folker, our Learning Support Coordinator, is asking parents to send letters of encouragement to their children, which will be given to them when testing starts. Please send these letters directly to your child's classroom teacher. Additionally, please ensure your children get a good night's sleep and eat a nutritious breakfast so they can perform their best on the tests.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,
Beth Woodward
WISCONSIN FORWARD EXAM
WE NEED YOUR HELP
Dear Parents/Guardians of students in grades 3-8,
On or about March 31, your child will be taking the state-required Wisconsin Forward Exam. We would love to have a surprise note from you to your child that provides encouragement for them to be accountable and do well. We need your help to kick off our testing schedule.
Therefore, we are asking for parents/guardians to write a note of encouragement. After you write the note, put it in a sealed envelope with your child’s name for your child to deliver to the classroom teacher via backpack. For the older students, we know this may seem harder but feel free to explain to them what you are doing and why. This will also help with them taking the exam seriously.
Notes are due FRIDAY MARCH 28
(We want every student to open a message)
Your child will open the message the morning of the first test
Testing Dates: March 31-April 11
In addition, here are several tips for helping your child succeed:
Make sure your child understands the importance of being accountable:
Accountable to their own learning;
Accountable to your concern for their learning
Accountable to all staff who work tirelessly to ensure their growth and achievement.
Make sure your child gets a good night’s rest
Make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast
Make sure your child is at school on time.

Tablesetters - Community Service Group
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in the community service group at St. Rita called Table setters. We meet once a month to learn about Catholic social teaching and participate in service opportunities which reflect those teachings. Some examples of projects from the past are: making dog toys for the Humane Society, collecting winter clothes for a local school, making "blessing bags" for the patrons of the St. Patrick's meal program, planting bulbs on the St. Rita grounds, making scarves and hats for the Hospitality Center, and making cards for our homebound parishioners. Participation in Tablesetters gives students the opportunity to play a real part in the local and global work of serving our community. It's fun to work together in helping others! Please fill out the form that was sent home with your child and return it to school before our first meeting.
