Color Adjustment Folders

1. Goals

SWBAT:

1...use Folder groups to simultaneously adjust multiple layers separately from other layers


2. Isolate layer(s) into "Normal" Group Folder


1. Select the layer you want to change in the layers palette

2. Click on folder icon at the bottom of the layers palette

to create a Folder Group.

3. Drag the layer you want to change into the folder (See 1)

.

4. Select the folder so it's highlighted (See 2)

.

5. Change the folder setting from

Pass Through to Normal (See 3)

Adjustment layers that are inside Folders set to "Normal"

will only adjust image layers that are below it in that folder.


3. Adjust the color

1. Select the layer whose color you want to change.(See 1)

It should be inside a Folder set to "Normal". See section

3 above.

2. Click on the Layer Adjustments icon at the bottom

of the layers palette. (See 2)

The Adjustment Layer Icon looks like a little black and white cookie.

3. Choose Color Balance or Hue Saturation

The Color Balance option is a way to get a more

natural color effect


4. Check Your Folder Setting

1. Make sure your Folder is set to normal. (See 1)

The default Folder setting is "Pass Through".

With a folder setting of "Pass Through",

the adjustment layer will adjust all theĀ 

layers underneath instead of just the layers in the folder.

2. Make sure only the layers you want adjusted are in the

folder and that they are under the adjustment layer.

The jeans will not be adjusted because they are not in the folder
