SWBAT
1. modify the way the Elliptical Marquee works using 3 different keyboard shortcuts
2. use one of the Image Menu Adjustments options to change the color of selected pixels
3. use the option key to duplicate selected pixels with the Move Tool
4. use a keyboard shortcut to subtract from a selection

1. Use your left hand to use Undo & Step Backwards shortcuts

3. Orange Plate-Elliptical Marquee Keyboard Tricks (71-74)
Hold down the SPACE BAR to reposition a selection (marching ants) while you're working on it
Use the MOVE tool to reposition selected PIXELS
4. Sally's Seashells (74-77)
1. Use t Use the OPTION KEY to make the ELLIPTICAL MARQUEE draw from a CENTER POINT.
2. Hold down the OPTION key to DUPLICATE selected pixels with the MOVE TOOL

Use COMMAND T (The Free-Transform shortcut to scale up)

1. Use two different selection tools on one selection.
2. Change the Magic Wand tool options so that it subtracts from a selection area.
EXTENDED LEARNING:
Don't change the Magic Wand Tool options. Instead...
• Hold the OPTION key to make it SUBTRACT from the Rectangular Marquee selection.
• Hold the SHIFT key when you want to ADD to a selection.
These selection tool techniques are similar to how you can change add to and subtract from shapes with the Illustrator Pathfinder Panel

• The Sally's Seashells Graphic has been duplicated and transformed onto the plate
• The Sally's Shells have been inverted (made blue) and they are perfect circles
• The coral has been perfectly selected and moved onto the plate

A high tolerance will select more pixels because it will tolerate a wider range of colors and values
