Texture Theme 2 Add 2 Backgrounds
Project Goals
SWBAT
1...Add a 2 Texture/Pattern backgrounds
to their Texture Theme Files without scaling up
2...Use the OPTION key to duplicate layers
3...Select and merge specific layers
2. Practice Tiling With a Provided Small Texture / Pattern
1. CHOOSE either the Ocean TEXTURE or the fabric PATTERN linked below
2. Navigate to the FULL SIZE image and RIGHT CLICK and select COPY
3. ACTIVATE your TEXTURE NAME file and choose PASTE from the EDIT MENU
3. Option Drag to Make a Column
1. Select the Move Tool
2. Hold the Option Key and drag on your Texture/Pattern to make enough copies for a column as shown (left)
4. Merge the Column Layers
1. Make sure the layers are lined up neatly.
2. Shift click to select the all the texture layers in the layers palette.
3. Right-Click and Merge!
5. Duplicate, Arrange, Stack & Merge
1. Option drag your column to the left/right until you have covered the entire canvas
2. Shift click to select them and MERGE

1. Decide on a Texture/Pattern that goes with your THEME. You can refer to the Texture ideas page if your need to
2. Open the TOOLS options in your GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH and under SIZE choose LARGE. Try and find a Texture/Pattern that is large enough that it won't need to be tiled. (The PIXEL DIMENSIONS of your file is 3000 x 2175). If you find one that you like with a SMALLER pixel dimension, just TILE IT!
3. NAVIGATE to the FULL SIZE IMAGE and RIGHT CLICK to COPY it.
4. Go to your TEXTURE THEME file and PASTE it.

1.The Ocean TEXTURE or the Fabric PATTERN was neatly TILED and MERGED and was NOT SCALED UP.
2. A SECOND texture or pattern was chosen from the INTERNET, downloaded and ADDED and was NOT SCALED UP. The Texture/pattern matches the theme

Small texture images should be tiled to cover large areas in order to maintain image quality.
Or use Google Image search tools to find a larger image.
