SWBAT:
Open a camera raw image in Adobe Camera Raw.
Adjust tone and color in a raw image.
Sharpen an image in Camera Raw.
Synchronize settings across multiple images.
Open a Camera Raw image as a Smart Object in Photoshop.
Apply Camera Raw as a filter in Photoshop.
Read Pages 283 and 284

Make sure Photoshop is not running. Quit it if you need to.
Simultaneously hold down 3 keys
Start Photoshop and continue to hold the keys
If you don't get the "Delete Settings File" or equivalent, quit Photoshop again and repeat the steps starting with step 1

The folder will download as a compressed .zip file. Double click on it to decompress it.
Skip the book instructions for using Bridge
Start Photoshop
File > Open
Navigate to the Mission folder inside the Lesson 12 folder
Shift-Click to select and open the following 3 files: Mission01.crw, Mission02.crw, Mission03.crw.
If the Set Up Camera Raw screen appears, make sure New ACR Default is selected, and click OK.
Open the book to page 285 and review the screenshot of the Camera Raw Workspace with the labels for what everything is.
Open the .crw files through the Photoshop File menu each day that you are working on them.
You will not be able to follow all of the Camera Raw instructions in one period.
Also, while in Camera Raw, you will not be able to SAVE your work as you usually do in regular Photoshop.
When it's time to log out, you will click "done" at the lower right corner of the Camera Raw Window
That will create 3 .xmp files
When you come back the next day, you open the .crw files and the setting your entered in the Camera Raw Window should apply
Start following steps at the top of Page 286, Step 5
Continue with the Camera Raw instructions up to Step 3 on Page 297.
There is no BASIC Panel
Find the options you need to edit in other panels (reviewed during in class demonstrations)
Follow instructions starting on Page 297, Step 1.
Continue with Step 3 on page 298 but make the following changes:
SECOND BULLET: Name file using example left
After completing all te steps up through page 299 you should have created 4 new files.
THREE JPEGS, ONE PSD (See highlighted left)
Upload those 4 files to the assignment posting
See the file name examples left for naming your new Mission files
Skip the book instructions for using Bridge
Start Photoshop
File > Open
Navigate to the 12B_Start.nef file and open it
Start following instructions on Page 303 , Step 2
Follow file naming instructions on Page 304, Step 1 but add your last name and first name before the file extension.
Follow the instructions in this section, not the book, so you will have 2 copies of your Model_Final file; one with layers and one that's flat.
Stop following book instructions after you save your work as instructed to with Step 8 on page 314
Save!
Image > Duplicate
In the Duplicate Image Window, name your file Model_Final FLAT followed by your last name and then your first. Example:
Double check that you have the correct file open before you flatten it
Layer > Flatten Image
Save
Hand in the two Model_Final.psd files
After your submit your two Model_Final files, you should have a total of 6 uploads to this assignment posting

10 Points: 3 MISSION JPEGS: The 3 Mission JPEG files were handed in. They were saved correctly with Synchronized Camera Raw edits, correct file names, and correct image size.
05 Points: MISSION_FINAL PSD FILE: The Mission_Final PSD file was handed in. It was created and named correctly with the Mission01 Smart Object layer.
10 Points: CR EDITS MODEL: White Balance and Saturation were all edited as directed in Camera Raw.
10 Points: ADJUSTMENTS MODEL: The tonal range was adjusted as directed with a Levels Adjustment Layer. Skin adjustments were made as directed in a Curves Adjustment layer.
05 Points: MODEL PSD FILE: The Model PSD file was handed in. It was created and named correctly with the correct 5 layers. It was NOT FLATTENED.
05 Points: LAYER-CORRECTIONS: The 12B_Start layer was duplicated, rasterized, and named "Corrections" on the Model_Final file
05 Points: HEALING BRUSHES: The Spot Healing and Healing Brush tools were used as directed on the Model_Final file. The Healing brush work was done on the "Corrections" layer
10 Points: DODGE & SPONGE TOOL MODEL: The Dodge and Sponge tools were used to edit the eyes and the shadows around the eyes on the Model_Final file. The Dodge & Sponge Tool work was done on the "Corrections" layer
05 Points: LAYER-SURFACE BLUR: The Corrections layer was duplicated and named "Surface Blur" on the Model_Final file
10 Points: SURFACE BLUR EDITS: The Surface Blur filter was applied as directed to the Surface Blur layer on the Model_Final file. The eraser was used to edit the Surface Blur layer as directed.
05 Points: MODEL FLAT FILE: The Model_Final FLAT file was handed in. It was created and named correctly.
