SWBAT:
Use guides to position text in a composition.
Make a clipping mask from type.
Merge type with other layers.
Preview fonts.
Format text.
Distribute text along a path.
Control type and positioning using advanced features.
Work with both Area Type and Point Type
Start Photoshop, and then simultaneously hold down
Command+Option+Shift
to restore the default preferences
Open the 07Start.psd file
File > Save As
Name your file Digital followed by a SPACE, your LAST name , your FIRST name and then the .psd file extension. Example:
Digital Hooker Martina.psd
Skip the book instructions for using Bridge and naming the file.
Start following steps on Page 172 Step 1
Make sure to choose a Sans Serif Font for "DIGITAL" Text
Create by CLICKING and NOT dragging with the TYPE TOOL
Use for SINGLE WORDS or SINGLE LINES of TEXT
Create by CLICKING & DRAGGING with the type tool
Use for MULTIPLE LINES of text/PARAGRAPHS
Cool Feature: When you change the paramter of the shape, the flow of text changes with it.
You can follow the instructions on page 189 but use "Digital" and "Digital Flat" in your file names
OR follow these steps...
Save!
Image > Duplicate
In the Duplicate Image Window, name your file Digital FLAT followed by your last name and then your first. Example:
Close your Layered file (protection against flattening it by mistake)
Double check that you have the correct file open before you flatten it
Layer > Flatten Image
Save
Hand in the two Digital.psd files
Digital Hooker Martina.psd
Digital FLAT Hooker Martina.psd
Include a Reflection & Self-Grading
Review the RUBRIC GOALS again
