1. Open your Intricate Symmetry / Intricate Symmetry 2 file

2. Choose 3 or more of your symmetrical shapes

3. Copy and paste them into your Rotational Designs File

1. Choose a # that divides evenly into 360 (use the calculator on your Dock) or your web browser,

Don't use 7 or 11 sided Polygons

1. Select the Polygon Tool

2. Click anywhere on your Rotational Designs File

3. Type in the # of sides you chose

4. Click and drag while holding the shift key 

It is important to hold the shift key while you draw / scale the polygon.

5. Ask yourself if the Polygon is a good size for using as a guide for copying and rotating the shape you have chosen to work with first

6. Hold shift and Scale the Polygon if needed.

You will delete the polygon after you're done copying and rotating the symmetrical shape

1. Position your shape next to the Polygon

2. Double Click on the Rotate tool in the Tool Box

3. Type in the # that results from dividing 360 by the # of sides on your polygon (Step 1 in Draw a Polygon section)

4. Click the "Copy" button in the rotate window In which direction does the shape rotate?

5. Repeat the process or use the Command D shortcut to create all the shapes for your radial symmetry design

6. Arrange the shapes carefully and neatly

7. Delete the Polygon

8. Group the shapes

1. Position your shape next to the Polygon

2. Double Click on the Rotate tool in the Tool Box

3. Type in the # that results from dividing 360 by the # of sides on your polygon (Step 1 in Draw a Polygon section)

4. Click the "Copy" button in the rotate window In which direction does the shape rotate?

5. Repeat the process or use the Command D shortcut to create all the shapes for your rotational design

6. Arrange the shapes carefully and neatly

7. Delete the Polygon

8. Group the shapes
