1. Lesson Goals

SWBAT: 

1...edit the STAR and POLYGON tool options.

2...draw STRAIGHT triangles and stars.

3...Explore 4 SELECTION TOOL MODES

4...use the OPTION KEY to COPY shapes

5...ARRANGE shapes to FRONT and BACK


2. Edit & Polygon Tools

1. Select the Polygon / Star tool Always use the POLYGON TOOL to DRAW TRIANGLES

2. Click once on your file to open the tool options window. Enter the required sides / points

3. Hold the shift key and click and drag with the Polygon/Star Tool to draw straight shapes. 

If you draw a CROOKED shape,DELETE it and draw in again


3. Explore 4 Selection Tool Modes

1. Click and drag in the middle of the shape to select the entire shape

2. Click and drag on the outside the corner of s shape to rotate

3. Hold Shift and drag on a CORNER tab to Scale the shape proportionately

4. Click and drag on a line segment to modify a shape

 

4.  Copy Triangle with the Option Key

1. Select the triangle with the BLACK SELECTION TOOL.

2. Hold the option key and drag the shape to make a copy.

Remember this keyboard trick  - you can use it in other programs!

5.  Arranging Shapes Forward and Back

1. Select the shape with the select tool and use one of the following options

• Right Click > Arrange

• Object Menu > Arrange

REVIEW the OBJECT menu
