PSCIB_02: Family Photo
1. Project Goals
SWBAT:
Understand image resolution and size.
Straighten and crop an image.
Adjust the tonal range of an image.
Use the Spot Healing Brush tool to repair part of an image.
Use the content-aware Patch tool to remove or replace objects.
Use the Clone Stamp tool to touch up areas.
Remove digital artifacts from an image.
Apply the Smart Sharpen filter to finish retouching photos.

Be sure to follow steps 1 & 2 on page 36
Skip steps 3 - 9
Open your file in Photoshop
File > Save As and Change the format to Photoshop (.PSD) in the FORMAT drop down menu. Name your file "Family" followed by one space, your last name, and then your first name. See example.
Start editing your image! Follow the book instructions starting with Step 1 on page 38.

The keyboard shortcuts for changing brush size are the left and right bracket keys
5. "02 Extension": 2 Options
Search for an image on the Internet. Choose something that interests you.
Create "02 Extension" file (2 options)
- Navigate to full size image on the Internet.
- Control-Click to COPY image.
- Load PS. File > New
- In the New Document Window choose "Clipboard
- Open
- Emil Photo to your self
- Open email on computer & download
- Open file through PS
3. File > Save As and name the file "02 Extension" followed by one space, your last name and your first name.. Don't forget to leave the .psd file extension as is.
Example: 02 Extension Hooker Martina.psd
NOTE: If you see a different file extension and not the .psd one, change it to a .psd file in the file format menu just like you did in the beginning of this lesson with the "family" file.
6. 02 Extension: Duplicate the layer
Option drag the layer of your image UP to the TOP of the layers panel to make a copy so you can show your before and after work.
Position the copy so it is on top of the layers panel (See left)
7. 02 Extension: Use 4 or More Tools from this Lesson
Choose an area to repair or change on the top layer that you just duplicated. .
Choose one of the tools covered in the assignment
Rename the duplicated internet image layer (it should be on top) with the name of the tool you are going to use.
Make the rapair or change to the layer you just renamed.
5. Duplicate the last layer you worked on by option dragging it up.
6. Rename the duplicated layer with the next tool you are going to use.
7. Edit the layer with the tool.
8. Name the layer with the tool you just used. (See left)
9. Continue the process until you have used 4 different tools. Be sure to name each layer as you go.

10 POINTS - FILTERS: The Smart Sharpen and Dust & Scratches filters were applied correctly
15 POINTS - 02 EXTENSION: was completed as directed with the correct number of layers and tools used.

What are the keyboard shortcuts for changing brush size?
Saturated (intense) colors are pure colors from the color wheel. A color can be desaturated (made duller) by mixing it with its complement.
In PS, the Sponge Tool can be used to saturate or desaturate colors
