1. Project Goals

2. FILE SET UP 3-9-16

1. Login to TEACHER

2. Go to the UPPER RIGHT corner of your SCREEN and CLICK on the SPOTLIGHT icon

to OPEN start a search.

3. TYPE in PHOTOSHOP and LOAD it

4. Use FILE > NEW to create a FILE with the following SPECIFICATIONS

NAME................PS Portrait Last Name First Name

..........................Example: PS Portrait Hooker Martina

PRESET............US PAPER

RESOLUTION....300

4. Do a second SEARCH for PHOTO BOOTH

.

5. Use Photo Booth to take a SELF PORTRAIT.

.

6. Click to SELECT one WITHOUT any EFFECTS

.

7. Use the EDIT menu to COPY it (EDIT > COPY)

.

8. PASTE it into your PS Portrait File

.

9. Use the COMMAND T shortcut for Free Transforming to SCALE it UP

.

10. Create a NEW LAYER.

.

11. Refer to LESSON 11 (Page 288) and use the

PAINTBRUSH TOOLS to Create a SELF PORTRAIT Painting

.

12. Use a VARIETY of Brush SIZES and TYPES

.

13. Show EXPLORATION & EFFORT

.

14. DELETE the ORIGINAL Photo Booth picture

.


3. Add Name & Print 3-10-16

1. Open Your PS Portrait

.

2. Select the HORIZONTAL TYPE tool

.

3. Enter the following SETTINGS in the OPTIONS bar

• ARIAL REGULAR

• 12 POINT

.

4. Create a TEXT PATH with ONE SINGLE CLICK

.

5. Type in your NAME and CLASS PERIOD

• Example: Martina Hooker, Period 5

.

6. SAVE

.

7. Select PRINTER 1 through the FILE Menu PRINT option

.

8. Bring your PRINT to the SUBMIT TRAY by Ms. HOOKER's computer


4. Add 4 Guides 3-14-16

1. Open Your PS Portrait

.

2. Reveal the RULERS through the VIEW MENU

(VIEW > RULERS or COMMAND R)

.

3. Click on the VERTICAL RULER and drag a GUIDE to 8" on the X AXIS"

and again to drag a SECOND GUIDE to .5" on the X AXIS

.

4. Click on the HORIZONTAL RULER and drag a GUIDE to 10.5" on the Y AXIS"

and again to drag a SECOND GUIDE to .5" on the Y AXIS

.

5. Select the LOCK GUIDES option in the VIEW MENU

.

6. Make sure ALL your PAINTING work is inside the GUIDES

.

7. Use the MOVE TOOL to position your TEXT on the

LOWER RIGHT as shown below

.


5. Complete Rubric Heading & Peer Review

1. After you have completed the Rubric HEADING and

READ your PEER REVIEW you can STAPLE

it to the BACK of your other rubric(s) in your CLASS FOLDER

.

Please make sure to RETURN your RUBRICS in KEYBOARD # Order

2. CONTINUE working on your PROJECT

6. Create Flat JPEG Copy of Finished PS Portrait File 3-16-16 & 3-17-16

1. OPEN your PS Portrait file

2. REVIEW your work against the RUBRIC and make changes if needed

any other layers that you don't want to include in your final art
