7. Creative Extension 

Add two and images as directed in this section for 10 points.  Add more than 2 for extra credit (duplicating doesn't count)

1. Google Image Search: Search for a photographic image of an object of your choice

2. Use the image search tools in Google to filter for only large images.

3. Go to FULL SIZE image

4. Control Click for the Context menu and choose COPY

5. Open your Seashell Selections file

6. Edit > Paste and see the new layer in your layers panel

8. Correcting Selections with the Option and Shift Keys 

Hold the OPTION key to SUBTRACT from a selection

Hold the SHIFT key to ADD to a selection


9. Selecting and Deleting Pixels for Round Objects 

Use the ELLIPTICAL MARQUEE to select round objects.  

SELECT > INVERSE to invert the selection and select the background pixels.

Edit > Cut or use the Delete key to delete the pixels.

Note: Only the layer with the basketball gets effected because the Seashell Selections layer was not highlighted in the layers panel.

5 points --- SAND DOLLAR:  The SAND DOLLAR was NEATLY selected with the QUICK SELECTION tool and then MOVED onto the SHADOWBOX

5 points --- CORAL:  The CORAL was NEATLY selected with the OBJECT SELECTION  tool and then moved onto the shadowbox.

10 points --- ORANGE PLATE:  The ORANGE PLATE was NEATLY selected with the ELLIPTICAL MARQUEE tool and then moved onto the shadowbox.

15 points --- MUSSEL:  The MUSSEL was NEATLY selected with the POLYGONAL LASSO tool and then moved onto the shadowbox where it was ROTATED.

10 points --- NAUTILUS:  The NAUTILUS was NEATLY selected with the MAGNETIC LASSO tool and then moved onto the shadowbox.

15 points --- SCREW HEAD:  The SCREW HEAD was NEATLY selected with the ELIPSE tool and then moved onto the shadowbox where it was SCALED DOWN and DUPLICATED. The duplicates were positioned as directed.

10 points --- CROPPING:  The IMAGE was CROPPED as directed.

15 points --- CREATIVE EXTENSION:  At least 2 objects (photographs) were added to the shadowbox.  The objects were NEATLY cut out and positioned.

5 points --- LAYERS:  The selection work from the workbook assignment was completed in ONE LAYER.  Creative extension images are in separate layers.

5 points --- REFLECTION and SELF-GRADING: Private comment with reflection and self-grading is included
