Contour Line Still Life 2: Final Drawing
1. Review Assignment Goals
SWBAT:
Create a final carefully drawn and detailed contour line drawing of a still life of 7 objects
Chose and work with a thumbnail sketch from previous assignment
Practice observational drawing; close looking and careful drawing at the space, shapes, and lines in their still life set ups.
2. Gather Supplies & Get Ready
9" x 12" - ish unlined Paper. If you have been using lined paper, please try and get unlined for your final drawing. (If possible)
Thumbnail Sketches, #2 Pencil, Eraser
3. Transfer Circled Thumbnail Sketch to Final Paper (February 25 & March 1)
Be sure to orient your final drawing paper in the same orientation as your thumbnail sketch
Draw very lightly so you can easily make corrections

STEP-BY-STEP Instructions
1. Get Ready:
• • Contour Still Life Drawing with Thumbnail Sketch transferred
(See previous 2 videos in section 3 above if you haven't started yet)
• • Sit in front of your Still Life point of view that matches your thumbnail sketch
• • Pencil, Eraser
2. Watch the Make Corrections Video on your own. If you can, draw while you watch and listen
3. While looking carefully at your still life, make corrections (WITH OUT CAREFUL DETAILS ) to your transferred thumbnail sketch. You will add the details later once you are sure everything is placed correctly in your drawing

1. Gather Supplies:

• • Sit in front of your Still Life with a point of view that matches your drawing
• • Pencil, Eraser
2. Watch the "Add Details Video" on your own (Section 5 of Linked Assignment). If you can, draw while you watch and listen
3. While looking carefully at your still life, add details and interior plains
4. Explore thick and thin lines
5. Feel free to omit some design details
6. NO SHADING
6. Finish Drawing & Submit for Grading (March 8 & 9)

7. Extension
For Extra Credit:

NOTES:
Make sure you can sit comfortably in front of your still life over the course of several days to capture the same view as the your chosen thumbnail sketch
Circle the thumbnail sketch you are choosing . You will photograph it and submit it with your Final Shaded Still Life Drawing.
