Stippling 2: Stippled Drawing 

1. Review Lesson Goals

Students will be able to...

1...choose animal photographs that lend

themselves to being cropped into a new

original and balanced composition

2...create original animal compositions by

cropping downloaded animal photographs

from the Internet

3...transfer cropped internet images

as line drawings proportionally onto drawing

paper using the grid method


2.  Log in to teacher

1. Type the letters TEA in the keyboard

2. Hit the left arrow key to bring up the

Teacher Account if needed

.

3. The Password is ABC123


3. Load CHrome & Find Website

1. Google Search for "Dewey Mac Lab"

.

2. Open the Home Page

.

3. Open Studio Art 2

.

4. Find today's lesson


4. Choose an Animal Reference for Drawing


Choose one of the animal images linked below

Lions

Horses

Horses

Flamingoes

Crocadiles

Kittens

Peacocks

Elephants


5. Save it as a Preview File

1. Right click on the animal image and choose Copy

.

2. Load the Preview application by clicking on its icon on

the Dock at the bottom of your screen

.

3. Choose "New From Clipboard" in the File Menu

at the Top of your screen


4. Choose "Save" from the File Menu

.

5. Type in your name for a file name


6. Crop It

1. Click and drag to draw a selection around an area

you want to draw

.

2. Tools > Crop

By cropping the image, you are creating your own composition.

Cropping allows you to make your own artistic choices

instead of using the composition that was planned by the

original photographer.


3. File > Save to Desktop


4. File > Print

Choose Printer 1

Choos Scale to Fit


Bring your print to my desk









6. Draw a Grid on Your Print

1. Use a ruler to find the middle of one of the sides

of your print and mark it off with a pencil

3. Mark off the same measurement on the opposite side

.

4. Draw a line









6. Lightlly Draw a Second Grid on Drawing Paper

3. Place both items side-by-side on top of your folder.

focus on copying SHAPES, SPACES, and LINES

3. Carefully copy LINE ANGLES and where

they meet other lines including the grid lines

4. Double check the proportions of the

SHAPES, SPACES & LINES in relation to each other

and make corrections as needed
