5.  Prepare Clay 

1. 

1. Keep clay hydrated & don't rush.

2. Wedge air out of clay

3. Shape clay into smooth form

.

4. Smooth out cracks as they appear


6. Make Slabs

1. Keep clay hydrated & don't rush

.

2. Flatten a little with hands

.

3. Place slats along side leaving space

.

4. Roll clay to even thickness

.

5. Smooth out cracks as they appear

7. Cut Shapes

1. Mark shape lightly first with pin or knife

(Use ruler, circular object, or paper template if you want)

2. Cut out shapes

3. Smooth out cracks as they appear.

4. Hydrate, Consolidate, & Wedge left over clay

8. Assemble Slabs

1. Keep clay hydrated & don't rush

2. Check your slab for proper sizing - redo if needed

3. Score & Slip

4. Use your fingers or a tool to weld the clay together
