Being wise without scorning

Being wise without scorning

If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it (Prov.9:12).

Do not scorn others under any circumstances. Today we scorn them who do not agree with us or who hate us. We scorn others because of a prideful spirit. The consequences of scorning are so terrible that you have to bear it. At times, we do not know whether we scorn others. Even while cutting jokes, we should not indulge in scorning. Scorning is different from rebuking. Scorning pierces and wounds the heart of the victim whereas rebuking cleanses the heart of the rebuked. The heart of Jesus was pierced due to scorning. Let us repent of scorning. The punishment for scorning cannot be borne by you.
