Oil in dwelling of wise

There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up (Proverbs 21:20).

Oil in the dwelling of the wise means enough savings for the livelihood and for taking care of the needs in old age. Treasure necessary for the livelihood has to be desired. But a foolish man spends all his savings in buying things not needed for his livelihood. One has to be frugal in the spending of money.
