Righteousness and mercy

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour (Proverbs 21:21).

One need to get righteous with God through the blood of Jesus Christ and to seek mercy from God so that he inherits eternal life from God. He then gets the righteousness of God imputed to him and then honour from God. If a person is in Christ Jesus with the righteousness of God, he or she is honoured by God, though the world does not honour him or her.
