Rejoicing over fall of enemy

Rejoicing over fall of enemy

(Verses 17 and 18 of Chapter 34 in Proverbs are clubbed together).

Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: (Proverbs 24:17)Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him (Proverbs 24:18).

When your enemy falls, you should not rejoice over it. When your enemy stumbles in his life, your heart should not be glad. If you rejoice over it, you will displease God and God will turn away His wrath or judgment from the wicked man concerned. You should always pray for and love your enemies. It is for God to judge him.
