Greedy of gain

Greedy of gain

He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live (Proverbs 15:27).

There are many believers who are greedy of gain in everything. They are too self-centered that they do not seek the welfare of others. But troubles would visit their houses. Their prayers would be in vain. Today, many of our prayers are not answered by God because in the past, we would have definitely earned some undue gain due to greediness.

Many believers working in their offices or pastors in churches do expect "Christmas" or birthday gifts from others. If some people out of their love want to give you some gift, you can accept it prayerfully with thanksgiving. But you should not covet but hate it altogether. Gifts mean offerings, tithes, etc. Whatever comes to you from others which you do not earn legally by working with your own hands is a gift. If you learn to hate gifts, this would add long life to your existing life span and to the life spans of your family members. You would enjoy good health. Today many servants of God who are greedy of gain and who love gifts do not enjoy good health and their life span is cut short by divine judgment.
