When used, this wand will detect either hidden portals or traps.
This wand can be used in two ways and the mode must be declared when invoking the wand's magic. The modes are as follows:
Detect Secret Doors. [innate] (complex; concentration) Area of Effect: 15-ft. radius emanation; When the wielder holds the wand and concentrates (as a complex action), the wand directs the wielder's hand holding it to point in the direction of any secret doors in the area of effect. A "secret door" in this context is any portal that is hidden. Examples include a trap door under a rug, an opening concealed by a curtain, a door constructed to look like the wall around it, etc. Hidden compartments or the like that are not a portal cannot be detected. The method of opening the detected portal or even it's dimensions is not given, just a thrumming feeling from the wand in the direction of the detected portal. Each use consumes 1 charge and the wielder must be immobile while concentrating.
Detect Traps. [innate] (complex; concentration) Area of Effect: 30-ft. radius emanation; When the wielder holds the wand and concentrates (as a complex action), the wand directs the wielder's hand holding it to point in the direction of any traps in the area of effect. A "trap" in this context is defined as per the find traps spell. Only the presence of a trap is noted, not its nature, specific location, or trigger—just a thrumming feeling from the wand in the direction of the detected trap. Each use consumes 1 charge and the wielder must be immobile while concentrating.
Charges. Wands of this type will have 1d100 charges when found. The wand can be recharged by using an enchant an item ritual.
