This ring holds a set number of spells that can be cast by the wearer.
Once donned, the ring communicates it's ability of spell storing to the wearer as well as the list of spells stored within it and potential spells (previously used).
Spell Invocation [spell; invocation] (declared; major, 5 segments] The wearer can invoke spells from the ring as if using a wand. However, the wearer can be holding an object while using the ring to invoke a spell. Once a spell is cast from the ring, it cannot be used again until the spell is replaced.
Roll 1d4+1 to determine the number of spells stored in the ring.
Roll a d% to determine the type of spells stored:
Determine the spell level of each spell stored within the ring:
— Cleric: 1d4; If a 4 is rolled, roll again. If another 4 is rolled, the spell is level 5.
— Druid: 1d4; If a 4 is rolled, roll again. If another 4 is rolled, the spell is level 5.
— Magic-user: 1d6; If a 6 is rolled, roll again. If another 6 is rolled, the spell is level 7.
— Illusionist: 1d4; If a 4 is rolled, roll again. If another 4 is rolled, the spell is level 5.
Once the spell level is determined, use the appropriate Spell List to determine the spell stored.
If a reversible spell is stored, the chance is equal for either one (01-50: The spell noted in the spell list; 51-00: The reverse).
To determine the caster level, start with the minimum caster level for the spell in question and add 1d4. If a 4 is rolled, roll again. If another 4 is rolled, add another 1d4 (to a maximum of 20th level for any spell).
In order to replace a spell, a spell caster of the appropriate type must don the ring and attune it.
The spell caster must then cast the spell normally, but using the rings power in such a way that the ring absorbs the spell.
The caster level for the spell is set by the caster.
A ring that holds a reversible spell can store either version of the spell.
The minimum value of a ring of spell storing is 1,000 XP/5,000 g.p.
Otherwise, each spell is equal to spell level x caster level x 500 g.p. XP is equal to 1/5th of the gold piece value of the ring.
Thus a ring of spell storing holding invisibility (CL 4), fireball (CL 7), and haste (CL 9) is worth 5,600 XP/28,000 g.p.
