These bracers appear to provide a base armor class protection to those not wearing armor.
Description. These items appear to be wrist or arm guards, sometimes etched with symbols of protection or depictions of vigilant-looking animals or fortifications. Materials can be leather, metal, wood, or other (with a high degree of variability).
When worn, bracers of defenselessness grant the wearer protection as if they were bracers of defense (any type).
However, if the host is engaged in a true combat situation (per the GM), the curse will manifest itself.
Instead of providing protection, the bracers cause the wearer's AC to be 10 (AD 10) and all other armor class adjustments, magical or mundane, including Dexterity will be negated. The curse continues to function even if armor is donned.
Once the curse manifests, the wearer becomes the host (desiring to keep the bracers and hide any negative effects) and the bracers cannot be removed until the curse is removed from the host.
The curse is considered a minor curse.
