Ring of X-Ray Vision

This ring allows the wearer to see through objects.

• Once donned, the ring communicates it's ability of x-ray vision to the wearer.

• X-ray Vision. [complex] (concentration) The wearer can cause the ring to grant them "x-ray" vision for a duration of 1 round (caster level 12). This allows the wearer to see through most materials to a range of 20 ft. (also restricting all sight to 20 ft. range).

  • An area of up to 100 sq. feet can be scanned in 1 round or a 10-ft. cube in 10 rounds.

  • Secret doors/compartments in the area are noticed 90% (d%; 01-90 equals success) of the time.

  • Traps can be located from 50-90% (d%; 01-50 to 90 equals success) of the time depending on the nature of the trap (per the GM).

  • Some materials will block the vision by thickness unless the wearer continues to concentrate, the vision penetrating further for each round concentration is maintained:

• Thus, a typical wooden chest can be peered into in 1 round. If the bottom is covered in gold coins, a secret compartment might not be seen.

• The wearer can peer through a closed wooden door in 1 round, but the vision is limited to 20 feet (assuming the wearer is pressed up against the door).

Limitations on Use

• The ring can be used once per hour for up to 20 rounds without ill effect.

• More frequent usage or maintaining concentration times longer than 20 rounds will temporarily drain the wearer's Constitution score.

— The wearer will lose 1 point of Constitution per use over the first in any 1 hour time span.

— The wearer will lose 2 points of Constitution for any period of concentration longer than 20 rounds up to 30 rounds.

— For each 10 round increment over 30 rounds of concentration, the wearer will loses another point of Constitution.

— Constitution can be recovered at a rate of 2 points per 24 hours of complete rest.

Attunement

• The ring requires 24 hours of being worn to attune itself to a wearer (and will not function until it is attuned).
