This sword oozes cold and is the bane of fire-type creatures.
Description. The weapon has a white blade, almost appearing crystalline in shape. In warm areas, it exudes a mist when drawn. When drawn in temperatures of 0 degrees or colder, it glows with a cool white light (20-ft radius).
A Frost Brand is always a sword or scimitar (d%; 01-60: common sword; 61-90: uncommon sword; 91-00: scimitar); Use the Specific Weapon Type tables for sword types.
The sword is a +3 weapon with the Bane +3 ability against creatures with the fire sub-type. Thus, it will function as a +6 weapon against such creatures.
Fire Resistance. (continuous) The possessor is protected as if wearing a ring of fire resistance. This ability works even if the sword is not drawn.
The possessor is immune to non-magical fire damage from fire sources up to huge pyres of burning wood.
All magical fires, fire generated by creatures as a supernatural ability, and molten lava (or similar) are resisted in the following ways:
— The possessor takes -2 points of fire damage per die.
— Any applicable saving throws due to fire damage or fire effects are granted a +4 bonus to the save.
Extinguish Fires. [innate; cold, dispelling] (major) When thrust into a burning fire, the sword has a 50% chance (d%; 01-50) of extinguishing it in a 10-ft radius, even if the fire is magical. The sword cannot extinguish instantaneous fire effects (including breath weapons or fireball spells). If thust into lava, the sword must make a saving throw and, if successful, it will harden the lava in a 10-ft radius (still very ho to those without fire resistance).
