Half-elves do not form a race unto themselves, but rather they can be found among both elvenkind and men. Half-elves are usually much like their elven parent in characteristics, although to somewhat lesser extent than a pure elf.

Half-elves will normally look like an obvious cross-breed—human-seeming but distinctive-colored eyes, and pointed ears. However 10% will look either completely human (01-85) or completely elven (86-00). Half-elves tend to be human height and live upwards of 300 years. Half-elves have at least one (pure-blooded) elven parent or grandparent, or two half-elven parents. Thus, the child of a half-elf and a human will be human, unless the half-elf parent was the child of a full-blooded elf. The result is that elf characteristics fade in a generation or two.
Half-elves share the religion of those around them—The Creator is favored for those raised by elves and the other deities for those raised near human communities.
Ability Scores. Half-elf player characters have no adjustment to ability scores. Minimums are an 4 Intelligence, a 6 Dexterity, and a 6 Constitution. Maximums are an 18/90 Strength.
Age. Half-elves mature at the same rate humans do and reach adulthood around the age of 24. PCs begin their career between 40 and 60 years old (unless a single-class cleric or druid; See Personality and Background). Half-elves have a lifespan of approximately 300 years.
Alignment. Half-elves share the chaotic bent of their elven heritage. They value both personal freedom and creative expression, demonstrating neither love of leaders nor desire for followers. They chafe at rules, resent others’ demands, and sometimes prove unreliable, or at least unpredictable.
Size. Half-elves stand between 5 and 6 feet tall and average about 130 lbs. Your size is man-sized.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 120 feet per round.

Starting Languages. Common, Elf, Gnoll, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Hobgoblin, and Orc. Half-elves gain a bonus regional language if raised in a human community as noted above.
Infravision. Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have infravision in dark conditions. You can see in dim light outdoors out to 100 yards as if it were daylight.
Allure. Half-elves that appear totally human gain a +20% to Encounter Reaction checks and +1 Comeliness when dealing with humans. Those appearing entirely elven will instead gain a +2 Comeliness when dealing with humans.
Mixed Heritage. For the purposes of magical effects, half-elves are the creature type humanoid (elf). Half-elves that are raised in a human community also gain a bonus regional language regardless of Intelligence score.
Keen Senses. You have the ability to notice secret doors, hidden drawers, and similar phenomena. When scanning an area, hidden gaps or seams will be noted in walls or containers ~17% of the time (d6, 1). When searching, these will be found ~34% of the time (d6, 1-2). Finding things simply concealed will increase the chance to 50% (d6; 1-3). You gain a +10% adjustment to Sense Invisible checks.
