When this fragile bead is broken, it turns into a huge pink cushion.
This pink crystal bead, when broken, will transform into a 10-ft. by 10-ft. cube-shaped cushion made of a marshmallow-like substance (appearing in the location it broke).
The bead makes item saves as per crystal. The GM will rule on the specific item save category based on circumstances (direction of toss, substance thrown against, etc.). For example, a fleshy creature might grant a +8 save against Normal Blow (as the bead is solid), but assuming it makes the save, bouncing off and falling to a stone floor requires a +4 save vs. Crushing Blow.
Transformation is very fast, taking less than a second.
The 'cushion' will conform to the space available forming a reasonably tight seal against solid surfaces.
The cushion is otherwise not stuck in place but weighs roughly 350 lbs. and is soft and squishy (i.e. difficult to move, taking two rounds to flip on to a side).
A creature that falls on the cushion treats the fall as being 40-ft. less than actual with respect to falling damage.
If blocking an area, the cushion can be carved through, using a slashing weapon (automatic strike for damage vs. Large and every 10 points of slashing damage carves through 3-ft. (allowing a Man-sized creature to squeeze through).
If creatures are in the area where the cushion appears, they will be shunted to the nearest open space and must make a Dexterity save vs. Petrify or fall prone. If a natural 1 on the save is rolled, the creature is trapped underneath the cushion, and will begin to suffocate in 1d4 rounds. A successful Minor Strength check (as a complex action) will allow the trapped creature to crawl out from under the cushion (this can be attempted once per round).
If the bead is broken against a surface above the ground, the cushion will fall. Creatures directly under the impact point must make a Dexterity save vs. Petrify or be hit by the falling cushion, each taking 3d8 damage (save avoids). A natural 1 on this save means the creature is pinned as per above, otherwise those struck will be pushed aside, taking the indicated damage and falling prone.
The cushion disappears at the end of the duration. The substance has no smell or taste.
Each bead is usable only once.
