This very fine metallic powder appears to be dust of appearance or dust of disappearance.
If tested, this dust will seem to make creatures or objects appear (01-25) or disappear (26-00) as the magical dust of the appropriate type.
Sprinkle Powder. [complex] If possessor of a packet of this powder sprinkles it in order to use it's magic, the powder begins to swirl and multiply, immediately creating a 20-ft. radius cloud.
All creatures in the area must make a save vs. Poison or begin sneezing and choking (treat as suffocating/asphyxiating) for 5d4 rounds.
This typically means the creature will die given the creature cannot take a breath of air during the duration even if cured.
Once breathed, the dust cannot be washed off and the dust is unaffected by dispel magic.
A remove curse spell will negate the effects of the dust on the target creature. The dust is otherwise unaffected if targeted by a remove curse spell or effect.
The dust is not a poison effect.
Creatures in the area that succeed the saving throw also begin to sneeze and choke during the duration. However, these victims are able to gather enough air such that they will not die from asphyxiation. While sneezing and choking, these creatures are treated as stunned.
It is impossible to tell the difference between those that save and those that failed the save until those that failed the save begin to fall into a coma before dying.
Creatures that do not use lungs (or similar) to breathe are immune to the dust.
Before the dust is sprinkled, a creature can declare to hold their breath. However, once coated in the dust, if the coated creature breathes at any time during the duration of the dust, they will be affected and must save as per above. A coated creature can wash the dust off only if completely submerged in liquid (or similar, per the GM). In any case, a creature coated with the dust cannot cause the dust to swirl or coat/affect other creatures (unless the dust is manufactured to do so).
Once one packet in a set is used, the rest will typically become mundane (per the GM).
This dust is found in packets (of one pinch per packet) or tubes (using a tube has the same effects as a packet) and attempts to store it in a container other than the packet will normally render the dust mundane. Rarely, the dust is created for a special container rather than a packet or tube.
Some versions of this dust will remain potent in the area such that any who enter will cause the dust to swirl and all in the area must save as above (the duration for those affected is 5d4 rounds even if they are somehow dragged from the area).
