When a priest prays for spells while this incense is burning, their prepared spells become more powerful.
This small rectangular block of sweet smelling incense is visually indistinguishable from nonmagical incense until lit. When it is burning, the special fragrance and pearly-hued smoke of this special incense are recognizable by any 5th level or higher priest. One block of incense burns for exactly 8 hours.
Any priest that spends a minimum of 8 continuous hours preparing spells while within 20-ft. of a lit block of incense of meditation will gain the following benefits to the spells prepared.
Any variable component of a spell's effect is always the maximum (no dice are rolled). This does not include any rolls for random determination of type, caster level checks, or percentile chance rolls (including magic resistance checks). Creatures summoned/called or conjured do not have maximum hit points (but if the number of creatures is determined by a roll, the maximum number arrive). Examples of maximized variables include, damage dice, wound curing dice, duration (when diced for), range (when diced for), area of effect (when diced for), etc. Not withstanding the former exclusions.
Any saving throws granted to those affected by the spells suffer a -1 penalty to the save.
If a spell requires a Resurrect Save, the creature equal to half of their failure chance (round down). e.g. An individual with a Constitution score of 11 is raised (with a raise dead spell prepared using this incense); their Resurrect save is 90% (100 - 80 = 20 / 2 = +10% added to their normal chance of 80%).
This effect is negated 24 hours after the spells are prepared (this period begins once the 8 hour preparation time is complete).
