This oil coats the creature, surface, or object making it extremely slippery.
A typical vial of oil can cover one man-sized creature along with gear worn and carried (or 2 or more smaller creatures, per the GM).
Otherwise, the oil can be used to cover one object of roughly similar size or a surface of up to 5-ft. square.
Objects must be fully covered or the oil will be ineffective. Objects possessed by an opponent cannot be affected.
If used on an object or poured on a surface, creatures attempting to use/handle or move across it must make a DC 20 Dexterity check or fall prone/drop the object.
If used on a creature, the creature will become very slippery, immune to entanglement, grabbing, grappling, or similar effects.
Unless the creature was prone, the bottom of the limbs will be unaffected (so the creature can still move without falling).
Likewise, the hilt (or like surface) of anything held in the hands as well as the palm(s) will be protected.
That noted, exposed items not held, such as a bow or crossbow or hilts of melee weapons, will all be covered and cannot be used unless making a check as per above. Items in pouches or packs can be accessed and utilized normally.
The oil can be removed using at least 8 ounces of alcohol or similar amount of liquid containing alcohol. Full removal takes 3 rounds.
Otherwise, a complex activity can be used to wipe affected objects, like hilts or similar surfaces.
