This small bead the size of a thumbnail is glossy black and too heavy to be a pearl.
When impacted on a surface, a bead of force will explode in a 10-ft. radius burst requiring any in the area of effect to make a Dexterity save vs. Wand or take 5d4 damage and be knocked prone outside of the area of effect (save for half and to stay standing). If the bead explodes on contact with a creature, the creature is allowed no save versus the damage and is automatically knocked prone. Additionally, if the save is not made, the creature is also encapsulated in a spherical wall of force effect for a duration of 3d4 rounds (save negates the effect). At the end of the duration, the sphere vanishes.
A bead may be thrown as a missile weapon with a range of Short: 10-ft.; Medium: 11-20-ft.; or Long: 21-30-ft. (with no Armor Defense adjustment) or used as a sling stone (no damage but all other sling stone attributes apply). Otherwise, the bead can be used as a melee weapon (with a non-proficiency penalty). If used as a melee weapon, the wielder is also considered to have been struck by the bead. In either case, the bead does no damage other than the explosion damage and these attacks are not considered contact attacks.
Once a bead explodes, the bead is destroyed.
If the item is randomly generated, typically 2d4 beads will be found.
If the bead explodes on contact with a creature larger than 10-ft. in any dimension, the wall of force effect will not materialize.
If the bead explodes on contact with a creature currently moving faster than 120-ft. per round, the wall of force effect will not materialize.
Large creatures with 4 or more legs and/or heavy creatures that weigh more than 1,500-lbs. cannot be knocked prone.
