This hat may appear as any normal head gear including a scarf or helmet. When donned, the wearer finds they may alter their appearance.
When donned, the wearer instantly knows how to use the item.
Disguise Self. [innate] (major) The wearer can alter their appearance (at will). A humanoid wearing the hat can appear as a different race with the following limitations:
Change Height: +/-25%
Change Weight: +/-50%
Gender: Any
Eye/Hair/Skin Color: Any
Facial features: Highly mutable; includes ears and teeth.
Gear: Color and light modifications only. i.e. metal armor must stay metal armor, a spear must appear as a spear, pike, or lance, etc. The effect does apply to magic items. Items set down or dropped will revert to their original form. Gear cannot be added.
Comeliness: Can be adjusted within the bounds of 3-18 modified by Charisma (when communicating). Comeliness can be keyed to certain races (a comely orc may not be as comely to an elf).
When disguised, the hat can be made to appear as any headgear or even a headband, ribbon, or comb. If the hat is taken off, the disguise disappears. Otherwise, the effect cannot be disbelieved. The hat can be worn by any creature with a head (per the GM).
Magical Aura. Even when operating, only the hat itself will detect as magic and the school of magic can be set by the wearer.
