On Tuesday, February 2nd at 9am, we are hosting an assembly to honour Black History Month. We look forward to learning from our guest speakers Jeff Martin and Dwayne Morgan, and continuing discussions in our classes. Jeff A.D. Martin is an award-winning professional speaker, community activist, and mentor who has been inspiring people from around the world.
Jeff is also an author of the children’s book, “Brothers from the 6/ Sisters from the 6: Role Models in my Community” and all proceeds go towards his Toronto organization “Brothas from the 6” to help young people in our city.
Dwayne Morgan is an award-winning spoken word poet, two-time Canadian National Poetry Slam Champion, author of thirteen books, and winner of 3 Canadian Urban Music Awards. Dwayne has performed for the former President of the United States, Barack Obama, the former Governor General of Canada, Michaelle Jean, the late leader of the NDP, Jack Layton. He has shared the stage with Russell Peters, and opened for Alicia Keys, and Drake.
