The York School community was privileged to hear from Dr. Lisa Damour today who challenged us to rethink how we frame stress and anxiety in young people’s lives and gave sage advice to both our parents and senior school students on emotionally navigating through the pandemic.
Coincidentally, her talk coincided with Bell Let’s Talk Day which invites a nationwide conversation around mental health. Indeed, student wellbeing is a key focus of the work we do every day at The York School.
If you weren’t able to attend the session this morning, it is definitely worth taking the opportunity to watch this whenever you have a moment. The full talk is available on YorkNet under the YPA tab.
We invite you to join us when we continue these critical conversations in our upcoming Coffee Connects next week with Struan, the divisional principal and the wellness team.
We are grateful to the leadership of the YPA for co-creating and sponsoring our Speaker Series and look forward to hearing from Paul Davis in April.
