- Consistency drives quality, which serves the customer. Standard work includes checking against an expected outcome.
- Without standard work, there can be no measurable baseline … how would you know if an idea represented an improvement?
- It is disrespectful to an employee not to train them and plainly explain to them how to be successful.
- Explicit definition of inputs, work sequence and expected outcomes for each process step
- Developed to meet the Takt time of the operation
- Defined work to perform with consistent quality and repeatability
- Same approach every time to accurately measure quality and throughput time and allow for continual improvement
