BEVLOGEN
BEVLOGEN
INSPIRED
If it was swans I do not really know,
whose thousand wingbeats filled that autumn night
and hovered around the house in hallowed flight,
subsiding only at the morning glow.
Throughout the day I walked as one elected,
as if by angels’ wings I had been touched.
How many nights since then, when not as much
as one small single wingbeat was detected?
Now I must settle for the sun and grow,
inspired thus but once, accustomed to
the waxing and the waning of the moon,
the change of seasons as they come and go.
