Creating a seed crop record from an inventory lot

To access the INVENTORY LOTS screen: Go to the INVENTORY menu → INVENTORY LOTS screen

The process below outlines how to add the seed crop record that an inventory lot originated from, from the inventory lot itself. This would need be done if the inventory lot was created before its seed crop record was created.

On the INVENTORY LOT DETAILS screen for the lot you're wanting to create a seed crop record for click More Actions.


Click the + Add Seed Crop button.

The Add/Edit Seed Crop Record screen will appear where you can enter the details about the new seed crop record.

Fields appearing in pink are mandatory, and must be entered.

  1. Sown Date: Select the date that the crop was sown.

  2. Seed Crop Fields: Use the drop down list to select the seed crop field that the lot originated from.

  3. Field ID: Automatically displays the Field ID of the selected field (cannot be changed).

  4. Crop Location: Automatically displays the crop location of the selected field (cannot be changed).

  5. Seed Crop Name: Enter a name for the seed crop record.

  6. Parent Seed Crop Certificate #: Enter the parent seed crop certificate #.

  7. Parent Seed Year: Enter the parent seed year.

  8. Parent Seed Class: Select the parent seed class(pedigree) from the drop down menu.

  9. Seed Variety: The seed variety on the inventory lot will automatically appear here and cannot be changed.

  10. Grower: If the seed produced in the seed crop record was produced by a grower, select them from the drop down menu if you're producing the seed leave it blank.

  11. Comments: Enter any comments that you want to keep with the seed crop record.

To complete the seed crop record creation, click Save.

The seed crop record will now appear on the SEED CROP DETAILS page for the appropriate year and can also be found under the TRACEABILITY tab on the Inventory Lot Details page for the lot it was created from.
