Adding a Blend Spec

Click Add Blend Spec.

The Blend Specs screen will appear where you can enter the details about the blend spec.

Fields appearing in pink are mandatory, and must be entered:

1. Name:  Enter the appropriate blend spec name.

2. Active: This checkbox specifies if the retail product is active or not. By default it will be set to active.

3. Target Batch Size:  Enter a target batch size for a blend batch using this blend spec.

4. Target Batch Unit of Measure:  Enter a unit of measure for the target batch size.

5. Notes:  Any notes can be added here and stay with the blend spec.

To complete the blend spec creation, click Save.

The blend spec will now appear on the BLEND SPEC page and can now have ingredients added to it.

Enter the Blend Spec Details screen for the blend spec you want to add ingredients to, click the View Blend Specs button under the Actions column.

Click the Create New Ingredient button to add a new ingredient to the blend spec.  

The Create New Blend Spec Ingredient screen will appear, where you can enter the details about the ingredient you are adding.

1. Ingredient Type:  Select between variety, product, or inventory lot ingredient types.

2. Variety/Product/Lot: Based on the ingrident type, now select the approriate variety/product/lot for the ingredient.

3. Target Weight:  Enter the target weight for the ingredient. 

Note: If the target percentage was inputted first, the target weight will be automatically calculated. 

4. Target Percentage:  Enter the target percentage of this ingredient in the blend.

Note:  If the target weight was entered first, the target percentage will be auto-calculated. 

5. Notes:  Any notes can be added here and stay with the ingredient.

To add the ingredient to the blend spec , click Save.

The ingredient will now appear on the Blend Spec Details page.

Once all the ingredients have been added to the blend spec, it can be used for blend products and blend batches. 

Note:  The ingredient total % must be 100% to be able to use it in blend batches. 

To add a blended product first set up a product as normal, this informaiton can be found here: Add a product 

If the product is a blended product, check off Is Blend.

Next, select a ready for blending Blend Spec.

Check off Is Final if this is a product that will be simply stored and sold after it is blended.
