Trello Integration
Trello is a collaboration tool that organizes your projects and ideas into boards. Trello tells you what's being worked on, who's working on what and whether something is in a process. A Trello board is some product or project that is under continuous development, though a board can have a variety of uses and mean different things. Boards are made up of multiple lists. Lists contain cards.
More about Trello can be found on: http://help.trello.com/
Trello integration is done by synchronizing SocrateCloud Dashboards with Trello Boards. When modifying a Request/Lead in SocrateCloud the corresponding card in Trello is updated.
Below is a list of what is synchronized from SocrateCloud to Trello for a Request K-Board:
K-Board Project -> Trello Board;
K-Board State -> Trello List;
Request Subject, Consumed Hours, Estimated Effort -> Card Title with the format: "[Consumed Hours/Estimated Effort] Subject";
Request Summary -> Card Description;
Request Due Date -> Card Due Date;
Request Comments/Note -> Card Comments;
Request Members -> Card Members (only Request Members for the Trello User Setup has been done get synchronized as Card Members);
Processed State -> Archived State;
For a Sales Pipeline modifications are synchronized in the same way, except for the card title. The Business Partner Name or the Document No. and Lead Type from SocrateCloud get synchronized with the Card Title in Trello.
Similarly, when modifying a Card in Trello the corresponding Request or Lead in SocrateCloud gets updated. This takes place when the following card fields are modified in Trello: card title, card description, due date, assigned list.
This is a Chrome extension which allows you to enter and view hours on Trello cards (spent and estimated time). It can be used with SocrateCloud for complete hours management for all projects, employees and organizations. The extension calculates and displays the total spent and estimated time for Trello boards and lists.
You can get it trough the Chrome Web Store.
In order to set up the SocrateCloud Trello Integration you must go trough the following steps:
Create a Trello account
Complete the Trello User Setup in SocrateCloud
Create a record in Setup K-Boards - Trello
To create a Trello account go to https://trello.com/home and follow the instructions on the website.
You can create a new account or you can sign up with a Google account .
By going through the Trello User Setup you connect a SocrateCloud User with a Trello account. Before going through the Trello User Setup you must first be logged in with your Trello account within the browser.
To open the Trello User Setup window go to Main Menu>System Admin>Trello Setup in SocrateCloud. The window is only available if the SocrateCloud Trello Integration component is activated (for more info contact the BIT Sales department). Follow the steps described in the window:
Make sure you are logged into Trello by accessing the link: https://trello.com/login
Generate the Trello Application Key by accessing the link: https://trello.com/1/appKey/generate. Copy the key form the page and paste it in the respective field within SocrateCloud
Click on the Generate Trello access token Link in SocrateCloud. If the previously introduced Key is not correct the browser will display the message: "App not found". If the Key is correct you will be asked to allow SocrateCloud to use your Trello account. Click the Allow button to continue.
You will then receive a message saying “You have granted access to your Trello information” followed by a token code. Copy the token code and paste it in the respective field within SocrateCloud.
Once you have completed the Application Key and Access Token Fields click on Save Credentials. If successful the your Trello User Name will be displayed in the Trello User Setup window.
After going through the Trello User Setup you need to select the boards which will be synchronized between SocrateCloud and Trello. To do this you need to open the Setup K-Boards - Trello window via Main Menu>System Admin>Trello Setup in SocrateCloud. The window is only available if the SocrateCloud Trello Integration component is installed.
In this window you have to create a new record for each board you want to synchronize. Press the New Record button in the toolbar and complete the corresponding fields:
Organization
Name - This will be the name of the board generated in Trello;
Board Type:
Request K-Board - synchronize requests with cards. If selected you need to choose a Project;
Sales Pipeline - synchronize leads with cards.
After selecting the options above press the Create Board in Trello button. A board and it's lists will be created in Trello. The board will represent the selected Project/Sales Pipeline while the lists will represent the dashboard states defined in SocrateCloud.
If the SocrateCloud server cannot be reached by Trello the Register Trello Board Callback button will appear after creating the board in Trello. This allows the setup to be continued later, after the issue is fixed.
With the Synchronize Board button you can add or update cards in Trello with corresponding requests/leads from SocrateCloud which have not been synchronized.
