The Project Type window, located in the Project management -> Project Setup menu, allows defining the project types which will determine the functionality and structure for projects. The following fields are available:
Name, Description, Comment
Project Category - determines the project functionality:
"General" - the project has no accounting consequences;
"Service (Charge) Project" - no accounting consequences;
"Work Order (Job)" - production project to which products can be attached from the warehouse for production/assembly;
"Asset Project" - investment project to which projects can be attached from a warehouse;
Asset Group - asset group of the asset associated with the project;
Order Type - used when generating orders from projects;
Use Workflow - indicates that projects of this type use workflows (have document status and are subject to document actions);
Create Promotion - if checked price list versions will be generated when completing the project. Details in Promotional Price Lists;
The Request Types tab is used to define the request types and categories that can be associated with projects of this type.
The Standard Phase tab is used to define the standard phase available for all the projects of this type. The following fields are available:
Sequence, Name, Description, Comment
Product, Standard Quantity - the product and corresponding quantity used for invoicing;
if a product is defined at phase level any product defined at an inferior level will be ignored when generating invoices;
is used to set a fixed price for the project phase;
Owned Status - indicates that this is the final phase for the project;
Lost
The Standard Subphase tab is used to define the standard subphases for projects which represent the steps or tasks that can appear for a phase. Same as for standard phases a product and standard quantity can be chosen which will be used for invoicing if a product has not been chosen for the parent phase. available for projects of this type.
The Project Cycle Report generates a report regarding the status of one or more projects. It uses the project cycles to determine the phases that the reporting will be done for. The report uses the relative weight entered for each project phase. The project must have a type, phase and currency defined. The phase must be added to a cycle step.
The project Reporting window, located in the Project Management -> Project Setup menu, is used to define the project steps or milestones used for reporting, by comparing the specific the steps for a project. The following fields are available:
Name, Description
Used in DW - indicates that this record will be transferred to the BI (Business Intelligence) database;
Currency - currency used for project reporting. Can be different than the currency used for the projects;
The Step tab is used to define the steps within the project cycle. The following fields are available:
Name, Sequence
Relative Weight - allows for probabilistic reporting.
For example, if there is a 1:10 probability of closing a contract in the Prospect stage and a 1:2 probability in the Contract stage, you can enter a relative importance of 0.1 and 0.5, respectively.
The Cycle Phase tab is used to select the standard phases of projects for belonging each step. All the products from all the phases will be added up when reporting on this step. This allows you to include the phases from different projects and compare them. In the Project Cycle Report you can then view which stage is bigger or smaller compared to the other stage. This is an alternate method of measuring the project's completion stage.
The Project Title window, located in Project management -> Project Setup menu, allows you to define titles for the business partners (employees) involved in an "Asset project".
